We're Back!

The work continues! We are back to documenting our role in moving the work of Personalized Learning along in our district. Our last post was too long ago, but that is because we have been busy in our new teaching and coaching positions. Our passion for personalized learning continues to grow, and we are eager to share what we’ve been up to the last 5 months.

Currently, our role in our district is .5, 8th grade teachers of a class titled, “21st Century Literacy”, and .5, Personalized Learning Coaches. Our position is new in our building and we’ve been fortunate enough to have a central role in shaping what that looks like. Outlined below is what we imagined our role to be in theory and what our role actually is in practice.

Role in Theory:

-provide resources

-model/co-teach with teachers

-aid in PL implementation -encourage/validate the work of others

 Role in Practice:

-goal set and plan with teachers

-help monitor and plan for flex classes

-communicate and advocate for personalized learning with parents and
 community members

-create resources for teachers

In our upcoming blogs we plan to share what our role in practice means in more detail. There is so much to share! In the meantime, check out this link to see some of the things we have highlighted o staff in our building. We hope you are able to take what we share and apply it to whatever role you play in this incredible world of education.
